“If the sauna is just a bath, then Buckingham Palace is just a house.”

~ Robert L. Roy

Benefits of Infrared Sauna include…

  • Detox

  • Better Sleep

  • Weight Loss & Increased Metabolism

  • Stress Reduction

  • Skin Health

  • Pain & Joint Relief

Infrared saunas cause sweating to occur by emitting light rays that are directly absorbed by the body rather than in traditional saunas where the heat of the air itself causes the sweating. The heat generated from the light rays penetrates the tissues of the body more than the hot air heat of traditional saunas warming you from the inside out. Sweating typically occurs quicker in an infrared sauna than a traditional sauna. Incorporating sauna into your routine can bring greater health and vitality to an already healthy body as well as help to lessen symptoms of those dealing with various health conditions.

The sauna we have is called the Sauna Y by Clearlight. The Y stands for yoga. The bench is the size of a full yoga matt (don’t do yoga on the bench) and leaves room for one full yoga matt on the floor. Two to four people can fit on the bench depending on body type. Alternatively, three can fit on the bench with one person on the floor OR two people on the bench and two on the floor. Removing the bench allows room for two full yoga matts providing enough room for two people to stretch, lie down and or do yoga! This also allows for up to 4 people to comfortably sit on the floor. You will be prompted upon booking to indicate whether you want your sauna session to be with or without the bench.

Included in each session

1 dry towel & one cold and damp eucalyptus infused towel

A dispenser each of electrolyte and plain filtered water

Infrared Light has benfits of its own!

Infrared therapy has far reaching positive effects on the human body. It is a safe, natural and has no known side effects which allows it to be offered as an alternative treatment for various health conditions.

Improved Blood flow

Infrared light increases blood flow by traveling deep into the skin, causing blood vessels to dialate and thus increasing circulation. This is especially beneficial to areas of the body with comprimised blood flow.

cellular oxygenation

Increased blood flow causes more delivery of oxygen (and nutrients) to cells. This increase in oxygen improves overall physical performance, immune system function, energy levels, sleep, brain function and more.

Mitochondrial health

Infrared light interacts with the powerhouses of our cells (aka mitochindria) enabling greater amounts of energy production at the cellular level which results in healing and regeneration of all body tissues including nerves, the brain and lymphatic system.

“I’ve long been a sauna enthusiast and recommend it to cleanse the skin, soothe sore muscles or merely relax. In asking you to take up the practice of sweat bathing, I cannot separate its physical and spiritual aspects.”

~ Dr. Andrew Weil
